Essential Spanish phrases when skiing in South America

Looking to venture into South America to ski places in Argentina and Chile? Well, not everybody speaks English so here are a few Spanish phrases you may want to remember before heading over.

Basic Conversation

Hello – Hola
Good morning – Bouenos dias
Good night – Buenos noches
Goodbye – Adios
See you later – Hasta la vista
Yes – Si
No – No
Bad – Mal
Good – Bien
Very good – Muy bien
Nice to meet you – Mucho gusto
I’m sorry – Lo siento
Excuse me – Perdón; Con permiso
¿Hablas ingles? – Do you speak English
How much is it? – Cuanto es?
I would like… – Queria
Beer – Cerveza
Wine – Vino
Water – Agua
Coffee – café

Directions

Where is…? – donde esta
Left – A la izquierda
Right – A la derecha
Straight – Todo recto
North – Norte
South – Sur
East – Este
West – Oeste
Mens bathroom – Caballeros
Ladies bathroom – Senoras

Weather

How is the weather? – Qué tiempo hace?
It’s cold – Hace frío
It’s hot – Hace calor
It’s sunny – Hace sol
It’s windy – Hace viento
It’s raining – Llueve
It’s snowing – Nieva

I’d like to go to the hotel….. – Quisiera ir al hotel…..
I’d like a room for the night – Quisiera una cuarto para esta noche
Where is the bank? – ¿Dónde hay un banco?
Do you accept credit cards? – ¿Acepta usted tarjetas de credito?
Watch out! – ¡Cuidado!
My friend – mi amigo
Help, Police – ¡Socorro, policia!
Call an ambulance – ¡Llame una ambulancia!
What is your telephone number? – ¡Cuál es su número de teléfono?
Until tomorrow – Hasta mañana ás-ta ma-nyan-a
