Gay ski week kicks off in New Zealand

600 gay men and women from around the world are expected at Gay Ski Week 2009 which began in Queenstown at the weekend and will run through until September 6.

The week opened on the weekend with a party at the Novatel Queenstown Lakeside Hotel on Saturday and skiing at Coronet Peak.

During the week visitors are expected to be skydiving, bungy jumping, jet-boating, and partying the week away.

Today the Remakables skifield will host a “dash for cash and tubing”.

For those looking to get involved the party begins its Apres-ski drinks, or Fag Tag, at the Gallery Bar at the Novotel every night from 5pm.

The week will end with a closing party at the Novotel on Saturday and feature international DJs such as Sydney’s Miss Kitty Glitter.
